Japanese Encephalitis


A total of 38 human cases of Japanese Encephalitis have been identified in Victoria and southeastern New South Wales.

The Department of Health is providing vaccines for individuals at direct risk of infection.

Acute hepatitis in children


The WHO has identified an increase in cases of acute hepatitis of unknown aetiology among young children in Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Spain. Further investigations are ongoing in affected countries.
